Bad Bunny Teases New Album ‘Debí Tirar Más Fotos’
The release, expected Jan. 5, will mark his first full-length since Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va a Pasar Mañana in October 2023
Bad Bunny is back! The Puerto Rican superstar has announced his forthcoming sixth studio album, Debí Tirar Más Fotos. The record is set for release on Jan. 5.
Bad Bunny made the announcement on Instagram with a short teaser that shows the Puerto Rican film director Jacobo Morales recounting his life travels, saying that Puerto Rico stood out among all the places he’d been and that he wished he’d taken more pictures. “I should have lived more, I should have loved more while I could,” he says. “While you’re alive, one should love as much as they can.” The camera pans out and shows him talking to a small cartoon animal named Concho on the table, who responds that he loves him a lot.
A few minutes before the album teaser dropped, Bad Bunny had also released a visualized for his song “PIToRRO DE COCO.”
The album announcement comes just over six years to the date of Christmas Eve 2018, when Bad Bunny famously released his debut album X 100pre less than 24 hours after announcing it. In a recent retrospective for the album, Rolling Stone wrote: “It’s because of its intimate portrayal of Puerto Rican boyhood that so many of his homeland fans hold the album like a scrapbook of their childhoods. There’s no experience like listening to the biggest artist in the world narrate memories from your youth.”
Since making his bombshell debut, Bad Bunny has filled his catalogue with sprawling and ambitious records — including the history-making album Un Verano Sin Ti, which arrived just in time for the summer in 2022. His most recent was Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va a Pasar Mañana, released in October 2023 just months after the musician told Rolling Stone that “this year was for resting.”
“I spend so much time thinking about what I’m going to do next, thinking and creating, imagining things,” he said at the time. “I already know where I’m going.”
2024 wasn’t a year of resting, either. From February until June, Bad Bunny was on the run for the Most Wanted tour. The trek grossed around $208 million and closed out with a three-show run in Puerto Rico. He also appeared on two collaborative singles, including “Adivino” with Myke Towers and “Qué Pasaría” with Rauw Alejandro. His solo musical output included the singles “Una Velita” and “El Clúb,” released in September and December, respectively.
