As I Lay Dying’s Tim Lambesis Responds After Disturbing Videos With Wife Surface

New videos have started circulating around the internet that have shown As I Lay Dying frontman Tim Lambesis having a disturbing exchange with his wife Dany.

The metalcore singer has since responded, claiming that the videos were released in retaliation after he filed for divorce.

There are two separate videos that have started making the rounds. Before continuing we will warn you that the following story will be describing some disturbing scenes.

One video appears to be in a bedroom. It doesn’t include audio but shows the singer visibly having a tense conversation with his wife. As she counters his yelling, he moves toward her getting in her face before pulling back, hitting a suitcase and visibly shaking his fists.

As he returns to the bed to talk with her, he bangs his head with his fist a few times and punches his own arms before noticing the camera on the nightstand and turning it away from view.

Given the nature of the videos we have chosen not to include them, but there are links provided should you want to investigate further. The first video was initially posted on Vimeo but had been taken down. However, it has started to circulate on X as well.

A second video that has been posted shows an argument between the couple in an outdoor covered porch area. It is not known the timeline in which these incidents took place.

In this video, which does include audio, Lambesis is seen overturning a table where his wife had been sitting. As she shouts an expletive back at him and starts to walk away, he tries to intercept her while professing his love. When she distances herself, he begins to punch himself as she begs for him to stop.

What Tim Lambesis Said

Not long after the videos started making the rounds, Tim Lambesis issued a statement on the matter.

In his statement, the singer alleges that it is his wife Dany that was the source of the domestic disturbance. He also states that he has filed a restraining order against her and noted that a domestic violence investigation has been filed as well. It’s also noted that Dany is now “formerly Lambesis.”

He alleges a pattern of verbal and mental abuse over the last three years and revealed that he took the “much needed and overdue step” of leaving her and serving her with divorce papers this week. He claims that the split is the reason there has been retaliation against him today.

His full statement on the matter can be viewed below.

There is currently a restraining order and a domestic violence investigation being filed against Dany Norris (formerly Lambesis). Anything she is saying now is to distract people away from that to instead focus on my own inappropriate (but not illegal) reactions to these anxiety inducing interactions.

This woman assaulted me and verbally/mentally abused me over 3 years. I took the much needed and overdue step to leave her yesterday by delivering divorce papers. That is the reason there have been attempts at retaliation toward me online today that pale in comparison to what will really be the focus of the courts.

The following evidences are part of the case:

• multiple videos of her assaulting me
• videos of her chasing me around the house with a knife or scissors
• video of her insisting that I delete all other accounts of her physically assaulting me under threat of her knocking me out with a weapon held over my head
• photos of a black-eye she gave me with witness accounts of the event
• witness accounts of me being threatened if I try to leave, even temporarily

I’m certain she will counter by trying to expose my anxiety filled reactions and defenses, but please remember that reacting in panic by hurting myself is far different than what I’ve listed above.

The timing of these public attacks online are because I served her with divorce papers yesterday after many days of her pleading for me stay while also flipping back and forth to attempting to exert abusive control.

This is blatantly a retaliation for me finally leaving a relationship I should have run from a long time ago.

What Tim Lambesis’ Wife Had Previously Stated

As band members started to exit the As I Lay Dying lineup, Dany addressed rumors that had started to circulate online that an abusive relationship was at the heart of the dissent.

In her first post after reactivating her social media, which had been temporarily set to private, Dany denied the abuse rumors calling them “unfounded” and “completely false.” She added that she was “deeply saddened” and stated “there has never been an incident that warrants such accusations.”

“It is completely unjust that everything spread the way it did and nobody even considered my voice to be heard through it all,” she continued.

In closing, she wrote, “I ask that you respect our privacy during this time and refrain from perpetuating these harmful rumors any further.”

As I Lay Dying and Austrian Death Machine Defections

In late October into early November, several members of Tim Lambesis’ two bands began to leave their positions in the groups. Bassist Ryan Neff was the first to exit As I Lay Dying, with Ken Susi, Nick Pierce and eventually the longest tenured As I Lay Dying member Phil Sgrosso following suit.

Susi stated that his “personal morals” were tested to the breaking point in making his decision to leave. Pierce stated that he needed to distance himself in order to retain his personal health and integrity.” Sgrosso cited “concerning patterns of behavior” while adding that the group “no longer offers a healthy or safe environment for anyone involved.”

Drummer Brandon Short of Lambesis’ other band Austrian Death Machine then exited that band stating that his exit was “for the sake of my mental well-being and personal beliefs.”

With Lambesis as the lone member in As I Lay Dying, he agreed that there had been “an unhealthy environment” in the band. That said, he added in a statement that he fully supported everyone’s decision to leave and remained open to any discussions about assumptions that had been made about him.

Though he is currently the only member of the band, Lambesis announced his intent to continue the group and has already booked a couple of festivals to support their newly released Through Storms Ahead album.
