Queen Camilla’s son, Tom Parker Bowles, revealed the sweet nickname his children have for their step-grandfather, King Charles III.

Parker Bowles, 49, appeared on the Sunday, October 13, episode of Love Your Weekend with Alan Titchmarsh, where he revealed the affectionate name his two kids — daughter Lola, 17, and son Freddy, 14 — have for the King. “The children, of course, don’t really know any different. So ‘Uppa’, as they call the King, they’ve grown up with this man that they all love and think is wonderful,” the cookbook writer shared, as reported by Hello! Magazine.

“People ask them and they are like, ‘What? It’s just Uppa!’,” he continued. “So yes, I mean, a healthy perspective I think, but you have to keep saying, ‘It’s the King. Get out your tracksuit bottoms!’.”

“She is a really good grandmother so we go down to her house in Wiltshire and that’s where we can relax,” Parker Bowles shared. He noted that his mother is also a “basic English cook” who rarely uses measurements when cooking recipes at home, adding that he favors her roast chicken recipe.

Last month, Parker Bowles praised his mother for her strength amid her husband’s cancer battle. “[The] doctor says the treatment is going well,” he told Daily Express in September of the King’s chemotherapy treatment. “She’s tough, my mother.”

News of Charles’ diagnosis was announced earlier this year after he underwent a procedure for an enlarged prostate, though the form of cancer he has has not been disclosed to the public.

“During The King’s recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, a separate issue of concern was noted,” Buckingham Palace shared in a statement from February. “Subsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer.”

After taking a break from royal duties to focus on his treatment, Charles made his first public appearance since his diagnosis in April at the cancer center in London, where he was joined by Camilla. In August, he shared that he was feeling “not too bad” amid his cancer battle during a visit to Southport, England.

Charles and Camilla are set to embark on an “autumn tour” of Australia and Samoa from October 18 to October 26. Following that, the King was set to appear at the upcoming COP29 climate conference in Baku, Azerbaijan on November 11. However, Buckingham Palace confirmed Wednesday, October 9, that Charles will no longer be in attendance, though further details regarding his absence were not revealed.
