Princess Charlotte Inherited a Talent From Queen Elizabeth II: Report
Princess Charlotte seemingly has a skill that was once held by her great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.
Royal author Phil Dampier claimed in an interview with Hello! magazine published on Monday, December 2, that he’s been told that Charlotte, 9, has “inherited” the “brilliant ability to mimic prominent figures” from the late monarch.
“That should come in handy at Christmas when the royals gather in the evening at Sandringham to play charades,” Dampier quipped to the outlet.
According to the author, Elizabeth had a similar skill that would “have her family in stitches with her impersonations of politicians” which included a few U.S. Presidents and former Russian leader Boris Yeltsin.
Charlotte is the sole daughter of Prince William and Princess Kate Middleton. The couple are also the parents of sons Prince George, 11, and Prince Louis, 6.
In addition to sharing a talent that’s perfect for large gatherings, Dampier also claimed that Charlotte and Elizabeth have a similar nurturing nature. He noted that Charlotte has been by her mother’s side throughout her battle with cancer. (The Princess of Wales, 42, was diagnosed with an undisclosed type of cancer earlier this year and revealed that she finished her chemotherapy treatment in September.)
“I’m told that although the Princess of Wales has obviously been looking after her children during her cancer treatment, and reassuring them she is getting better,” he explained. “Charlotte has been a great source of strength to her.”
Dampier added that Elizabeth had those same qualities when she was Charlotte’s age.
“Winston Churchill once said of the late Queen Elizabeth when she was a child that he had never seen such maturity in someone so young,” he said. “And Charlotte seems to have inherited that trait from her great-grandmother, to whom she bears an uncanny resemblance.”
Elizabeth and Charlotte shared a strong bond before the queen’s death in September 2022 at the age of 96. During Elizabeth’s funeral service, Charlotte was visibly emotional over the loss of her great-grandmother, who she lovingly referred to as Grannie. For the ceremony, Charlotte paid homage to Elizabeth by donning a silver horseshoe brooch that her great-grandmother gifted her.
Much like her bond with her great-grandmother, Charlotte also shares a sweet connection with her grandfather King Charles III. Earlier this year, the duo were spotted wearing what appeared to be matching friendship bracelets.
While neither royal shared that was the case, Charles, 75, was seen sporting the accessory during his July trip to the Channel Island with wife Queen Camilla. The month before, Charlotte attended the Taylor Swift concert in London with her dad and older brother. Last month, Charlotte’s dad was also spotted wearing a blue bracelet that read “papa.”
