NY Mets’ Brandon Nimmo and Wife Chelsea’s Relationship Timeline

New York Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo hit a home run with his wife, Chelsea Nimmo.

Brandon and Chelsea announced their engagement in 2015 and tied the knot two years later. In a 2018 interview with the Mets Insider blog, Brandon said it was “fairly easy” for him to pick the perfect ring for Chelsea, a pediatric nurse.

“I’m picky but I knew what she liked and which cut she liked. I knew what she preferred. I had hints that we had talked about before,” he said. “I actually found it quite fun.”

The couple exchanged vows in Savannah, Georgia, and Brandon admitted he felt a bit of “anxiousness” leading up to his walk to the altar.

“That is normally how I feel going into a big game. Just anxious to get into it. Once I get into it, the nerves and the anxiousness will go away,” he said. “You also want things to go well. I went through a long engagement. A year and a half to two years. It was a long time coming.”

The couple shared a “great” first dance to Keith Urban‘s “Making Memories of Us” — the same song his former teammate Travis d’Arnaud selected for his own wedding to wife Britney that same month.

“It was like letting the air out a little bit and being able to enjoy the moment,” Brandon shared. “We honestly just two-stepped the whole time.”

Brandon and Chelsea reached another special milestone in the summer of 2024 when they announced she’s pregnant with their first baby.

December 2015

The athlete got down on one knee at The Granary in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. “Thank you everyone for your well wishes and congratulations! It means a lot to us!” he wrote in the comments section of his Instagram reveal.

May 2016

Chelsea surprised Brandon at one of his games in Las Vegas. “I am so blessed to have you in my life for the rest of our lives! Thank you for the best surprise I could ask for @chelseajbradley!” he gushed via Instagram.

July 2017

Brandon celebrated Chelsea’s birthday with a photo of the couple and Mr. Met. “21 was a big year with so many great accomplishments, and I hope 22 is even better @chelseajbradley!” he wrote.

November 2017

The couple tied the knot in Savannah, Georgia. “What an incredible day it was!” Brandon later shared via Instagram alongside a photo from their wedding.

January 2018

The twosome supported the New York Islanders at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center.

December 2018

Brandon and Chelsea celebrated the holidays at the Mets Christmas Party.

July 2019

“Happy Birthday to my wife!” Brandon gushed via Instagram. “Can’t believe it was 5 years ago that we celebrated your 1st birthday together in Binghamton! Here’s to many more adventures and memories! I hope you have a great day! Love you!”

Chelsea joined Brandon on the baseball field to announce her pregnancy. “The sweetest birthday gift 🌸💗 Our little blessing due this December!” the pair wrote in a joint Instagram photo, which showed them holding a small Mets jersey.
