Jennifer Lopez Celebrates End of 2024 With Ben Affleck-Free Recap

Jennifer Lopez is saying goodbye to 2024 without a mention of her estranged husband, Ben Affleck.

Lopez, 55, shared a recap of her year via her Instagram on Monday, December 30, set to an orchestral version of her song “Waiting for Tonight.” The social media video began with clips from the rollout of her This Is Me… Now project.

“I’m going to take all of the things that I do and put them all on it,” Lopez was heard saying as the videos played. “It’s not just personal, it’s like my whole heart on the wax.”

As the video continued, clips of Lopez promoting the movie Atlas — which dropped in May — began playing, alongside videos of her smiling at the Met Gala the same month.

“I am very proud of how I handle all the things,” she said in an interview. “All the things.”

Lopez also recalled her viral moments of the year, including her take on the “very demure” trend — sipping from a bottle of her cocktail brand Delola — and sharing her go-to bodega order in New York City (“ham and cheese on a roll” with an “orange drink” — which she said, “if you know, you know”).

“In my low moments, I’ve learned to just feel the feelings and then let them go,” Lopez said, while in another clip she noted, “That makes the story so triumphant. You can come out the other end and literally become Dr. Judy.” (Lopez portrayed Dr. Judy Robles in the film Unstoppable, which premiered in September.)

The video continued with moments of her in Unstoppable and clips of her posing with fans. (Lopez starred in the autobiographical documentary, while Affleck, 52, and Matt Damon were producers.)

“What a journey this has been,” she said as the video continued. “I honestly feel that the best is yet to come.”

Before closing out the video, Lopez shared several clips and pictures of her fashion looks from 2024, including posing for magazine photoshoots.

“I can sit here with my heart and soul intact and still feel really full of love,” she said, while in another voice over she added, “It’s going to get better and it always does. It’s a beautiful life in that way.”

The video concluded with Lopez saying, “Let’s go b—” from Atlas. “See you in 2025!” a message read, signed by Lopez.

Affleck was noticeably absent from the recap. After two years of marriage, Lopez filed for divorce from Affleck on their wedding anniversary in August. (Lopez and Affleck eloped in July 2022 but renewed their vows at his Georgia home the following month.)

In October, Lopez gave her first interview since the split and opened up about her mindset.

“I did all the work and look where I am, and then it was like my whole f—ing world exploded,” she told Interview magazine at the time. “Sometimes, it’s going to work out great. And sometimes it won’t. And that’s f—ing OK, too. I was thinking about this time in my life, and I’m like, ‘That’s not what I thought it was going to turn out like.’”
