Teddi Mellencamp Gets Hair Buzzed Off Before Brain Surgery

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum Teddi Mellencamp is undergoing brain surgery after being diagnosed with several tumors.

“I’m gonna have this look on my bucket list,” Mellencamp, 43, quipped in a Wednesday, February 12, Instagram Story video as her friend shaved off her hair. “My best look. I hate to break it to my brother but once I’m allowed to wash my hair and it’s not all spiky, I think I’ve taken you for a run for your money, Hud. I’ll see you tomorrow and we’ll see who wore it best.”

In a follow-up Story, Mellencamp revealed that her friend Kyle Richards was present to see her off to the operating room, as well as country singer Morgan Wade and Mellencamp’s estranged husband, Edwin Arrowave. (Mellencamp filed for divorce in November 2024.)

Teddi, who is also the daughter of singer John Mellencamp, revealed several hours earlier that doctors found a series of tumors in her brain.

“For the last several weeks, I’ve been dealing with severe and debilitating headaches,” she wrote via Instagram. “Yesterday, the pain was unbearable and required hospitalization. After a CT scan and MRI, doctors found multiple tumors on my brain, which they believe have been growing for at least six months.”

Teddi revealed that two of the tumors needed to be surgically removed on Wednesday and the rest “will be dealt with via radiation” at a later date.

“I am blessed to be surrounded by my children, family, friends, doctors, nurses and surgeons who are doing everything possible to get me back into better health,” Teddi concluded. “Thank you to everybody who has reached out and to everyone who has supported me along this journey.”

Teddi and Arroyave, 47, are parents to daughters Slate, 12, and Dove, 4, as well as son Cruz, 10. (Arroyave also shares eldest daughter Isabella with a past partner.)

In an Instagram Story video on his page, Dove was seen asking Arroyave whether he was planning to stay at the hospital during Teddi’s procedure.

“Yeah, this is my bed [and] where I’m sleeping,” he said on Wednesday, pointing to his chair in the hospital room. “We’re watching Mama. She’s gonna watch TV [and] thanks for visiting.”

Arroyave captioned his upload, “Thank you for all the prayers and love for @teddimellencamp.”

In addition to Dove, Cruz was also seen sitting in the hospital room with the family.

Teddi had previously been candid about amicably coparenting her and Arroyave’s children amid their divorce.

“I’m just not gonna share [much], like, kids are involved,” Teddi exclusively told Us Weekly in December 2024. “[I’m trying] to find as much peace as I can, while also having fun and growing and working as hard as I can and being a good mom.”
