Maddi Reese got in touch with Ally Lewber after James Kennedy was arrested for domestic violence.

“I’ve reached out to Ally and I’ve talked to her,” Reese, 27, exclusively told Us Weekly on Thursday, February 6, while discussing the new season of Southern Hospitality. “But I just wish the best for both of them.”

Reese shared that she has “not spoken” to Kennedy, 33, following the incident but noted she still has a lot of “love” for him and Lewber, 28. Reese and Kennedy have been close friends over the years, as he served as a mentor to her as she began her DJ career.

“I love both of them so much,” she said. “And I wish the best for them and obviously the best for Ally.”

Vanderpump Rules alum James Kennedy is trying to get on the right path forward following his recent domestic violence arrest. “James is trying to win everything back including [girlfriend] Ally [Lewber],” a source exclusively tells Us Weekly. “If he doesn’t stay sober, he knows he has a lot to lose.” According to the insider, Lewber, […]

In December 2024, Us confirmed that Kennedy was arrested for misdemeanor domestic violence following an alleged incident with Lewber. The Vanderpump Rules alum was released after posting $20,000 bail. Kennedy denied any wrongdoing, and his attorneys noted in a statement that “there were no injuries” sustained.

Lewber addressed the situation via her Instagram Story, thanking everyone for sending “love and support” her way. “I’m OK and taking the time I need right now. I deeply appreciate all the kindness and respect for my privacy during this time,” she noted.

Kennedy later broke his silence, sharing that he will be prioritizing his sobriety.

“I am taking time to focus on my sobriety, personal growth, and being present for my loved ones,” he wrote via Instagram in December 2024. “Navigating challenging moments is not easy but I am determined to learn, grow and move forward with the incredible support system around me.”

The following month, Kennedy’s lawyer revealed that the DJ would not be facing any charges.

“I was just informed by the Burbank City Attorney’s Office that no charges will be filed against James Kennedy,” attorney Scott Leemon told Us Weekly in a January statement. “I want to thank them for conducting a thorough and professional review of the matter, involving my client.”

The statement continued: “Their diligent investigation confirmed what we have maintained from the beginning — there were no grounds for any charges to be filed against Mr. Kennedy. James is grateful to have this matter behind him and is looking forward to continuing to focus on his sobriety and his DJ career.”

Shortly after news broke about Kennedy not facing charges, Lewber confirmed that they had called it quits after two years of dating.

“Thank you all for your support and kindness. I am happy that prosecutors decided not to file against James, as I never desired criminal charges. We had an argument outside of his home related to him drinking again, however, I was not physically hurt,” Lewber wrote via her Instagram Story at the time. “We are [no] longer together, but I’ll always support James and wish him the best with his sobriety and healing. Thank you for your understanding.”
