Kanye West Defends Wife Bianca Censori Amid ‘Invisible Dress’ Controversy

Kanye West has spoken up about the extremely naked dress worn by his wife, Bianca Censori, on the Grammys red carpet. West and Censori debuted the NSFW dress in the midst of the awards show arrivals, causing a fervor online and in the media.

“My wife’s first red carpet opened a whole new world,” the rapper wrote on X this morning. “I keep staring at this photo like I was staring in admiration that night thinking wow I am so lucky to have a wife that is so smart talented brave and hot. She took a break from shooting her first film to make a movie in real life We tailored that invisible dress 6 times And just like magic poof we disappeared Thank you to all the outlets who recognized us and gave us back the energy we put in.”

He added, “People asked how would your mother feel. You don’t know my mama bitch.” West also shared several photos of the transparent ensemble, which left literally nothing to the imagination.

When West and Censori didn’t go into the Grammys ceremony, there was some speculation that the couple had been kicked out. However, they were never meant to go into the venue and were only there for the red carpet. Grammys executive producer Raj Kapoor told People that the awards show’s dress code is “artistic black-tie,“ but “in the music industry, I guess that’s up for interpretation.” He added that the couple didn’t have invitations for the ceremony.

“If they were invited guests because we [would] know everybody who’s seated at the VIP tables that we have in front,” Kapoor confirmed. “We know each person who’s coming because every table is numbered. And so our director has to know where those artists are for award categories. They didn’t have a nomination on the show and Kanye wasn’t presenting. He was not performing either, which is mostly what those seats are.”

The Grammys red carpet is not the first time West and Censori have gotten in trouble for their public antics. In 2023, a Venetian boat company banned the couple after images surfaced the two in a compromising position in the back of a water taxi. A spokesperson for Venezia Turismo Motascafi said that West and Censori “will certainly no longer be welcome on board our company’s boats,” adding, “We completely dissociate ourselves from such acts and behavior.”

West was first seen in public with Censori, an architectural designer, in 2023, with the two being spotted dining at the Waldorf Astoria that January. Later that month, TMZ reported that Censori and West had wed in a non-legally binding ceremony, just a few months after his divorce from Kim Kardashian was finalized.

The rapper has been involved in several lawsuits in the past few years, including from his former personal assistant Lauren Pisciotta, who accused him of firing her after sexually harassing her. In November, he was sued for allegedly choking a model with both hands and subjecting her to “pornographic gagging” as she gasped for air on the set of a La Roux music video being filmed at Manhattan’s Chelsea Hotel in 2010.
