Isla Fisher, Sacha Baron Cohen Are Discussing Financials in Divorce
Isla Fisher and Sacha Baron Cohen are preparing for the next phase of their divorce proceedings – and are moving forward “amicably.”
A source from the London court exclusively tells Us Weekly that Fisher, 48, filed “for financial remedy proceedings to consider how their finances will be divided” in September. The insider notes that “those proceedings have been put on pause” as Fisher and Cohen, 53, are “going into arbitration to try and resolve the financial matters amicably.”
Neither Fisher nor Cohen have completed necessary filings to finalize their divorce.
Us has reached out to both Fisher and Cohen’s reps for comment.
In April, the pair, who share three children, announced that they had separated after 14 years of marriage.
“After a long tennis match lasting over twenty years, we are finally putting our racquets down,” read a joint Instagram statement. “In 2023 we jointly filed to end our marriage. We have always prioritized our privacy and have been quietly working through this change.”
The statement concluded: “We forever share in our devotion and love for our children. We sincerely appreciate your respecting our family’s wish for privacy.”
An officer for the court previously confirmed to Us that Cohen and Fisher submitted a divorce application in England in September 2023 via the online divorce portal for England and Wales. Three months after the initial filing, the exes filed joint paperwork to declare that their marriage had broken down irretrievably.
A second source told Us in April that Cohen and Fisher had already quietly separated months prior, giving their family time to process the split and impending divorce. (Cohen and Fisher have kept their children out of the limelight.)
“They have been living separate lives since last year but wanted to give this space and time for their children to be OK with this before the news came out and they got all this attention,” the source explained “They are notoriously very private people and wanted to focus on their family.”
However, an additional source shared that Cohen and Sasha were “at odds” over their respective professional commitments and family responsibilities.
After news broke of their breakup, Fisher took to social media to express her gratitude for the well wishes sent her way.
“Thank you for all your kindness and support,” Fisher wrote via her Instagram Story in May.
The post included a picture of the actress smiling as she sat outside. While sitting at a table, she had a glass of wine next to her which rested alongside an empty dinner plate.
