Teddi Mellencamp Breaks Silence After Horse Trainer Affair News

Teddi Mellencamp has broken her silence after news of her alleged affair made headlines amid her divorce from Edwin Arroyave.

“I’m sure everyone has seen everything all over the worldwide web,” Mellencamp, 43, said to kick off the Thursday, November 14, episode of her “Two Ts in a Pod” podcast. “What I can say, which I’m trying very … there’s multiple sides to every story.”

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum then declared, “I’m not going to confirm or deny anything.” Mellencamp noted, “But there’s many people involved.”

She concluded by telling her listeners that she’s currently focused on her family. “I once again, say the same statement I said before: The kids, they’re the priority,” Mellencamp said. “For the time being that’s all I’m going to discuss on this.”

Mellencamp announced on November 2 that she and Arroyave, 47, split after 13 years of marriage. The reality star, who shares daughters Slate, 12, and Dove, 4, and son Cruz, 10, with her estranged husband filed for divorce one day prior — but listed their date of separation as October 20.

Arroyave, who is also the father of daughter Isabella from a previous relationship, responded to Mellencamp’s filing on November 8. He’s requested that their prenup be enforced and that he receive joint legal and physical custody of their kids, according to court docs obtained by Us Weekly.

While Mellencamp and Arroyave’s split shocked some fans, it was what came next that has kept people talking. Us confirmed on Wednesday, November 13, that Mellencamp had an affair with her horse trainer, Simon Schroeder, who is married, months before she left Arroyave.

“Simon and Teddi had a thing several months ago but it’s not still happening,” a source exclusively told Us, claiming that Mellencamp and Arroyave were both unfaithful during their marriage.

The insider explained that “Teddi isn’t excusing her behavior,” claiming, “But this was the first and only time she strayed outside the marriage.” The source noted that Mellencamp says “there’s two sides to the story” and both she and Arroyave are to “blame.”

A second source told Us that Arroyave “insists he has not had an affair since” he stepped out on Mellencamp eight years ago.

Although multiple insiders claimed to Us that “Edwin has cheated on Teddi more than once” during their relationship the second source claimed he’s remained faithful since his “wake up call” eight years prior. “Since then, he’s been focused on family and faith,” the insider insisted.

As news of her affair swirled, Mellencamp shared a cryptic message seemingly directed at all the chatter. “When you’re being pushed into the shadows always find your light,” she captioned an Instagram photo of herself on Wednesday.

The same day, Mellencamp and Arroyave were photographed sharing an intimate goodbye outside of their family home in Los Angeles. In the photos obtained by TMZ, Arroyave hugged and kissed Mellencamp’s head as she held onto a large suitcase.

The estranged couple wore somber expressions on their faces during the exchange.
