Travis Kelce Drops Subtle Nods to Taylor Swift on Podcast
Travis Kelce‘s feelings for girlfriend Taylor Swift are no secret, but his podcast shout-outs are becoming a little more subtle.
During the Wednesday, November 13, episode of “New Heights,” Travis, 35, celebrated the success of his brother Jason Kelce‘s new holiday songs with Stevie Nicks and Mt. Joy for the upcoming album A Philly Special Christmas Party. While teasing a live performance with Philly natives Mt. Joy before the next Eagles game, Jason, 37, joked that his “voice is shot.”
“You always have a raspy voice, man,” Travis said. “Just go ahead, get some honey. … Get some whiskey and some honey, you know what I’m saying.”
Jason immediately wondered how his brother knew “so much about vocal soothing,” to which Travis replied, “I’ve read up on it. Big reader.”
Fans were quick to predict Travis’ relationship with Swift, 34, is what inspired his newfound interest in vocal cord protection. The couple have been dating since last summer and have kept their romance strong throughout Swift’s Eras Tour. Swift has performed more than 100 shows to date around the globe with a setlist that spans over three hours, which no doubt could lead to some vocal strain. (“New Heights” listeners also poked fun at Travis — a man who famously struggled to spell squirrel — calling himself a “big reader.”)
The low-key nods continued later in the episode when Jason and Travis discussed Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones‘ defense of the team’s stadium. Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb missed a crucial pass while playing against the Eagles on Sunday, November 10, because the sun was shining directly in his face. (Jones, 82, insisted after the game that “the world knows where the sun is” and that the stadium is designed to the team’s advantage.)
“I’m not gonna lie, playing in that stadium, I’ve f—ing had that problem before,” Travis admitted. “That f—ing glare coming through that end zone in the afternoon is f—ing ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous. It’s like the glass makes it f—ing spread more. It’s like the sun is bigger and brighter than it’s ever f—ing been.”
Jason pointed out that athletes aren’t the only ones who’ve had trouble with the “aggressive” sunlight. “I saw somewhere — and I don’t know if it’s true or not, but I saw it on the internet, so I’m gonna assume it’s true like everybody else does — I think they actually have shades,” he said. “Because they do concerts in there and singers have said that it bothers them. Like, it’s an option that they could legitimately just put the shades down.”
Travis was intrigued by this piece of information, teasing, “Might have to ask somebody [about that].”
Swift performed at AT&T Stadium, home of the Cowboys, for three nights shortly after the Eras Tour kicked off in March 2023. She set an attendance record of 210,607 fans across the three performances.
Following a brief break in her schedule, which allowed the pop star to watch Travis and the Kansas City Chiefs defeat the Denver Broncos on Sunday, Swift is bringing her tour to Canada for its final shows. She’ll perform six concerts in Toronto and three in Vancouver before the tour officially wraps up in December.
