Dave Portnoy Calls Zach Bryan Raya Rumors ‘Dirty Business’

Dave Portnoy isn’t the only Barstool Sports employee who has something to say about Zach Bryan and Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia’s breakup.

“He went on Raya,” former NFL star and current podcast host Ryan Whitney said of Bryan, 28, on the Thursday, October 24, episode of “The Unnamed Show” podcast. Portnoy was quick to chime in and call it a “crazy” move.

“That’s dirty business,” Portnoy, 47, continued. Whitney, 41, added, “Why does he even need it?”

Portnoy stated, “He was on a dating app before the body was cold!”

Earlier this week, fans started to speculate that Bryan and LaPaglia, 25, had split after more than one year together after a TikTok that appeared to show the “Something in the Orange” singer on the Raya dating app went viral. Bryan subsequently confirmed that he and LaPaglia had split in an Instagram Stories statement on Tuesday, October 22.

A source has since told Us that LaPaglia was “devastated” after seeing his apparent Raya profile. (Us reached out to for comment to both parties at the time.)

“They had just moved in together in the spring, and she changed her whole life to accommodate his,” the insider said. “He has denied all the allegations but still agreed they should split.”

LaPaglia has since revealed that she and Bryan officially broke up on Monday, October 21. She claimed in a YouTube video that she was “blindsided” by his public statement.

“How can you, like, give every ounce of yourself to someone and then, like, be discarded of in a few days,” LaPaglia said. “It’s really, really heartbreaking and I don’t want to talk about details right now.”

Portnoy said during Thursday’s podcast episode that he got the “green light” from LaPaglia to share his two memorable run-ins with Bryan.

The first came in February when Bryan apparently “banned” Portnoy from his concerts after finding a clip from an August 2023 “BFFs” podcast episode. (LaPaglia and Portnoy host “BFFs” alongside Josh Richards.)

In last year’s episode, Portnoy referred to LaPaglia as a “revolving door” of relationships after she broke up with one boyfriend and moved on with Bryan. After seeing the clip “maybe, six months” later, Bryan instituted the ban. Portnoy said this caused a fight between LaPaglia and Portnoy.

The second “sensitive” situation took place when LaPaglia walked the Golden Globes red carpet and apparently spoke about a male celebrity who was in attendance. At the time, Bryan allegedly unfollowed LaPaglia on social media and blocked the “BFFs” account.

“He just seemed like a really immature, not confident baby,” Portnoy stated.
