Who Is Liam Payne’s Girlfriend? What to Know About Kate Cassidy

Liam Payne was dating Kate Cassidy for nearly two years prior to his October 2024 death.

The pair were first romantically linked in October 2022 after they were photographed holding hands while leaving a Halloween party together. Payne and Cassidy made things red carpet official in December of that year when they attended the British Fashion Awards. From that point on, the couple constantly shared photos of each other on social media.

Amid the good times, Payne and Cassidy experienced some ups and downs in their relationship. Us Weekly confirmed in May 2023 that they had split. However, the breakup was short-lived as they reconciled the following month.

Cassidy accompanied Payne to Argentina in October 2024, leaving the country two days before his death, according to a TikTok video detailing her travel from South America to back to Florida.

Us confirmed on October 16 that Payne died at age 31 following a fall from a third-floor balcony of the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Argentina. His cause of death has been listed as “internal and external” hemorrhages caused by the fall. Cassidy has not yet spoken out about his death.

Cassidy was born on March 25, 1999, and grew up in New Jersey. She eventually moved from the United States to London in 2022.

In May 2021, Cassidy showed photos from her Coastal Carolina University graduation. While at school, she was a member of the Phi Sigma Sigma sorority.

“Thank you for four amazing years,” Cassidy captioned her Instagram post at the time.

3. She Is Outspoken With Her Followers

Cassidy addressed allegations that she was lying about her age in an October 2024 TikTok video. At the time, she was 25 years old, but slammed followers for saying she looks anywhere between 30 and 40.

“I don’t know, I don’t think I look over 30,” she said, explaining that a Spirit Halloween employee questioned what her kids were being for the holiday. “I’m flattered. If you think I look this good after having kids. Not one kids, multiple kids, flattered but I don’t know. … Am I giving mom? Maybe, like MILF.”

4. She Met (Some of) the One Direction Boys

While dating Payne, the influencer crossed paths with more than one of the One Direction members. She was photographed at Louis Tomlinson’s All of Those Voices premiere in March 2023. Cassidy also crossed paths with Niall Horan when attending his October 2024 concert with Payne in Argentina prior to Payne’s passing.

5. She and Payne Adopted a Dog Together

In September 2024, Cassidy made a TikTok video revealing that she and Payne had moved into a Miami home together — and adopted a dog named Nala. Cassidy showed off their first days as dog parents in a series of TikTok videos.
