YouTuber Jack Doherty totals $200,000 McLaren supercar while live-streaming
YouTube personality and Kick streamer Jack Doherty totaled his $200,000 McLaren supercar as he apparently texted and drove in the rain — while live-streaming himself.
Video of Doherty’s Kick stream shows the 20-year-old Internet star looking down at his phone in his hand as he drives along a slippery Miami highway Saturday morning.
Seconds later, Doherty loses control of the vehicle, screaming as he glides across the right lane and smashes into a guard rail. The video on the streaming platform goes white, and his cameraman in the passenger seat can be heard groaning out in pain.
The two men can then be heard struggling to get out of the wrecked vehicle, with one frantically crying out, “Open the door! Open the door!”
The footage then cuts to Doherty examining his wrecked, wildly custom-painted car. The social-media star, who is now shirtless in the clip, kicks his mangled whip twice.
“All my money’s gone,” Doherty says before listing the upgrades he shelled out big bucks for on the vehicle, including a custom exhaust system and its paintball-gun-splatter paint job.
Doherty purchased the McLaren at the end of last year for $202,850.10, according to his YouTube channel.
According to Sportskeeda, there were 185,000 people in Doherty’s livestream at the time of the crash.
Doherty’s cameraman reportedly sustained minor injuries in the accident. He had blood dripping down his face afterward, according to TMZ.
The two men went to the hospital, where the cameraman received stitches.
Kick has since banned Doherty from the platform.
