The Diet Coke button returns to the Oval Office after Trump inauguration

The revamped White House Oval Office will once again feature the Diet Coke button that President Trump used to summon sodas during his first term.

The famous little red button, hidden inside a wooden box, was spotted on Trump’s resolute desk after his inauguration ceremony on Monday, according to the Wall Street Journal.

The button was removed from the Oval Office in 2021 by Trump’s predecessor, former President Joe Biden.

When pressed, the button notifies White House butlers that a Diet Coke – Trump’s drink of choice – is needed in the Oval Office.

“Everyone does get a little nervous when I press that button,” Trump told a Financial Times reporter in 2017.

The Oval Office is traditionally redecorated to the incoming president’s liking while Inauguration Day ceremonies are taking place.

Rugs, drapes, paintings and statuary are often replaced with other items in White House and government office collections to match the new president’s taste.

Trump’s new Oval Office decor includes portraits of Benjamin Franklin and George Washington – with the painting of the nation’s first president hanging over the fireplace, according to the Wall Street Journal.

A portrait of Alexander Hamilton, the country’s first Treasury secretary and founder of The Post, as well as one of former President Thomas Jefferson were also seen hanging in Trump’s office.

Trump, 78, has also brought back a bust of Winston Churchill, which he displayed on a table next to the fireplace during his first term, and kept a bust of Martin Luther King Jr. that both he and Biden displayed in the Oval Office.

The gold curtains Trump picked during his first term were also used by Biden, 82, and have been left in place.

Artist Frederic Remington’s “The Bronco Buster” sculpture is also back in the room, sitting underneath the portrait of Jackson.

New silver eagle figures were also spotted on the fireplace over the mantel.

Biden’s blue rug was replaced with the neutral-colored one that Trump previously used in the office.

Another change are the items on the Oval Office’s coffee table.

Biden kept chocolate chip cookies on the table whereas on Monday a bouquet of flowers and a square gold paperweight embossed with the word “Trump” sat on it.
