Obscenely ‘thicc boi’ black bear spotted in Colorado: ‘This one takes the cake. It also probably ate the cake’
A Colorado parks and wildlife agency could bear-ly keep it together after spotting a rotund figure on trail cameras.
A “thicc boi” black bear packing on the fluff for hibernation seen near Durango, Colorado by the state’s Parks and Wildlife Southwest Division went viral online for his astounding build.
“We thought we had seen really fat Durango bears before. But this one takes the cake. It also probably ate the cake. Every cake,” the wildlife agency wrote on X.
“Genuinely need to know how much more this black bear thinks he needs to eat before finding a den this year?” it wrote on a post featuring a video of the large black bear doing what it does best — eating.
Durango is a small municipality just about 200 miles outside of Denver and nearest to the state’s border with New Mexico.
With the winter season fast approaching, bears are entering hyperphagia, a natural behavior that pushes the mammals to eat and drink almost constantly in the fall in preparation for hibernation.
In total, black bears consume around 20,000 calories daily during hyperphagia and continue to do so until food sources diminish in early November as they enter their dens for the winter.
“When he sits, how does he not just roll over?” the state agency asked.
The “absolute unit” of a bear joins the ranks of viral animals highlighted for their bizarre physique, including a mouse packing a little more than just cheese in its caboose spotted in Utah last week.
