Masked goons beat NYC man and take 14 designer watches after sneaking in through fire escape while he slept: cops
Three masked goons attacked a Manhattan man in his apartment Monday and stole 14 watches worth $10,000 after sneaking through a window as he slept, cops and sources said.
The 41-year-old victim was sleeping in his apartment on Second Avenue near East 106th Street around 2:25 a.m. when the trio climbed into his third-story apartment from the fire escape, authorities and sources said.
They entered the apartment, flashed a gun and demanded money and weed from the resident, police said.
Then they rummaged through his closets and snagged about 14 watches – from brands including Hugo Boss, Casio and TAG Heuer – before leaving through the front door, cops said.
All three suspects – who wore black hoodies and black masks – were still on the loose later Monday, according to cops and sources.
The victim refused medical attention for swelling on his face, sources said.
A 42-year-old woman was also home at the time, but she was not hurt, according to the sources.
Police did not immediately know whether the victim was targeted, or if the suspects raided the apartment at random.
