Chilling new photo shows New Orleans terrorist calmly prowling French Quarter on bike

A newly released photo shows New Orleans terrorist Shamsud-Din Jabbar calmly prowling the French Quarter on a bike before he ended up killing 14 people and injuring dozens more during an attack New Year’s Day.

The chilling image, taken by a high-resolution security camera and released by the FBI on Tuesday, affords a clear view of Jabbar riding the bicycle Oct. 31, just blocks away from where he slammed a pickup truck into a crowd of revelers on Bourbon Street last week.

The photo shows Jabbar in a blue t-shirt and baseball cap and wearing the Meta-brand smart glasses he used to record first-person footage of the area, formulating a plan for the massacre that included planting two homemade bombs to be detonated after his initial rampage, authorities said.

Jabbar hid the bombs on the street in plastic coolers, security footage shows, but cops killed Jabbar in a shootout before he was able to activate the remote detonator.

Along with the photo, the FBI urged anyone who may have spotted Jabbar in the French Quarter between 2 and 6 p.m. that day to contact the agency at 1-800-CALL-FBI.

The plea for tips came as the agency worked to piece together critical details of Jabbar’s movements and actions before the attack.

In addition to the October visit, Jabbar traveled to the Big Easy from his home in Houston, Texas, at least one other time, in November, before arriving for a third and final time New Year’s Eve.

Authorities have not revealed how Jabbar was able to make what the FBI described as a “very rare explosive compound” used in the bombs, which he fashioned from an elaborate bomb-making work bench.
