Woman shares ‘cling film’ Christmas tree tip – fans prefer much easy alternative
A controversial Christmas hack could save you time next year but not everyone can get on board with the idea.
A woman showed how she never has to decorate her tree, because it’s already been done years earlier and is perfectly preserved.
Instead she wraps it up in cling film fully assembled with lights and baubles already in place before simply taking the wrapping off to reveal a perfectly decorated tree.
But fans weren’t convinced, with one person insisting there’s an even easier way to preserve your Christmas tree for next year.
The commenter wrote: “That’s a lot of cling film! I just put two bin bags over mine, tie with a bit of string and reuse them.”
They added: “We put ours in the eaves just covered in the bin bags. We only leave the lights on it and decorate with baubles every year.”
Another said: “I used to do this but I make mine a little different every year and decorating the tree gets me in the spirit!”
However, not everyone was impressed with the hack, one commenter posted: “That takes the fun out of it. The whole fun part is to decorate it.”
Some were outraged at the idea of not decorating their tree each year with some commenters saying it is a crucial part of the Christmas fun for them.
Another commenter said: “I could never it would be all flat and mishapen. Would end up taking it all off and re-doing.”
The hack has proved to be useful among ‘perfectionists’ who can take hours to decorate their tree in the exact way they want it to look – with no desire to take it all apart at the end of the season.
But, wrapping your Christmas tree in bin bags will help you to unveil the perfectly decorated tree next year and is a more sustainable way of preserving your tree instead of using heaps of cling film each year.
