Urgent hunt for gunman after two men shot in east London

Police have launched an urgent search for a gunman who shot two men in east London.

Emergency services were called to Canning Town in the early hours of the morning.

One man remains in a life threatening condition after reportedly being shot in the back.

The other man’s injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

No arrests have been made yet, but neighbours reported seeing a vehicle speeding away after hearing gunshots.

The Metropolitan Police said: ‘Police were called at approximately 02:05hrs on Saturday, 26 October to reports of a shooting in Rogers Road, E16.

‘Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and two men, no further details, were taken to hospital for treatment to gunshot injuries.

‘One man remains there in a critical condition; the other man’s injuries are not life threatening.

‘A crime scene remains in place.

‘No arrests have been made yet. Enquiries into the circumstances continue.’
