Tributes to ‘committed and caring’ artist found dead after going missing
Tributes have begun pouring in for an artist who was found dead last night after going missing in London.
Police confirmed this morning that they had found the body of Sarah Cunningham at Chalk Farm Underground Station near Camden.
Following news of her passing, Backlit Gallery, a Nottingham-based studio where Sarah was a former resident, paid tribute to their ‘dear friend.’
They said: ‘The BACKLIT team and studio community is devastated by the loss of our dear friend and former resident, Sarah Cunningham.
‘Sarah was one of our most committed and caring people to work with who had achieved great success with their artwork.
‘We send our heart felt condolences to Sarah’s friends and family at this time.
‘We hope to come together and support one another as a community whilst we mourn the loss of such an exceptional and much loved person.’
Those who knew Sarah took to social media to pay tribute.
Alex Young posted on Facebook: ‘Rest in peace Sarah Cunningham. Nottingham has lost an incredibly talented and heart warming woman.’
Catherine Read wrote: ‘Such devastating news, I worked alongside her for some years. Always such a positive person. RIP Sarah,’
Sarah was reported missing on Saturday evening, having last been sighted leaving an apartment block at Jamestown Road, Camden, a 12-minute walk from where she was found.
