Tragedy as Brit, 28, dies in motorbike crash while on holiday in Thailand

A family in Barry, south Wales, has suffered a heart-wrenching tragedy just days into 2025, after 28-year-old Corey Beavis died following a motorcycle accident while on holiday in Thailand.  His bereaved family remembered him as a “genuine person with nothing but love for the people around him.” The holiday accident, which occurred on Saturday, January 4, abruptly ended Corey’s life.

This has left his loved ones grappling with unforeseen repatriation and funeral costs due to a lack of insurance coverage. In response to this urgent need, his loved ones, including twin brother Liam, have started a fundraising page.

His family expressed their sorrow, saying: “On Saturday we received the devastating news our beautiful boy lost his life following a motorcycle accident. Corey lit up any room he walked into with his larger than life character and his infectious laugh.”

They continued: “He had so much left to give this world, but also lived a life 10 times beyond his wildest imagination. He was a real genuine person with nothing but love for the people around him.”

Twin brother Liam, in an interview with the BBC on Monday, said: “Corey lived his life to the fullest”. He went on to say: “I will struggle to find a way to deal with this pain for the rest of my life, but I promise I will make you really proud.

“Rest easy big man, see you on the other side. From the womb to the world. Now I’ll take him on my journey whilst he’s watching over me, absolutely smashing it for him like he’d want me to. This has changed me forever.”

The GoFundMe page set up to support the Beavis family has seen an influx of donations, amassing nearly £13,000 just a day after it went live. Assistance is also being provided by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office who are in contact with Thai officials regarding the matter.
