Rush hour delays hit London Underground line after overrunning track works
Commuters face severe delays on the London Underground this morning after overrunning engineering works.
The hump day rush hour is off to a difficult start after disruption on a stretch of the District Line.
There are severe delays between Turnham Green and Richmond after a late finish of Network Rail engineering works, the latest TfL travel update says. The rest of the line has good service.
It comes after all the Tube strikes have been called off following a successful pay deal between the drivers’ union Aslef and TfL.
The Underground network was set to be crippled on Thursday and Tuesday before they reached an agreement yesterday.
Train delays at Clapham Junction
Some railway lines have been blocked at Clapham Junction, causing delays on South Western Railway trains.
The disruption is expected to last until 9am, SWR warned.
Journeys could take longer than usual, it said.
Disruption on Southern trains at West Croydon
Passengers have been warned of delays and cancellations between West Croydon and Selhurst after a points failure.
This is affecting Southern services until about 7am.
Severe delays on the District line
The London Underground line has been hit by severe delays between Turnham Green and Richmond as the rush hour gets underway.
This is because of late running Network Rail engineering works.
The rest of the line has good service.
