Moment woman leaves police officer crying on the floor after violent outburst
A police officer was left crying on the floor of a train after she was ‘hit in the face’ by a passenger.
Video taken at Birmingham New Street station shows officers trying to restrain the woman following the attack.
The footage posted on social media shows the woman hurling abuse at officers and appearing to hit the female police officer.
Officers can be seen dragging her out onto the platform, and telling her to ‘calm down now’.
A person in the video can be heard saying: ‘She’s kicking the police officers’, while officers tell her to ‘stop resisting’.
The female officer is shown crying and holding her face, while another officer appears to call for medical assistance.
Warning offensive language in clip
British Transport Police said a woman was arrested at the station on suspicion of domestic violence and two counts of assault against an emergency worker.
It said: ‘We have zero-tolerance for violence on the railway, particularly against officers just doing their job.
‘Officers were responding to a separate incident on the train at Birmingham New Street railway station when they were made aware of a report of domestic violence.
‘An officer was assaulted whilst separating the pair, requiring hospital treatment.
‘A second officer was also assaulted.
‘A woman was arrested on suspicion of one count of domestic violence and two counts of assault against an emergency worker.’
