Gunman still on the run nearly a day after shooting near London nursery

A man in his 20s has been shot in north London with the gunman still on the loose.

Officers were called to Washbourne Road in Harlesden around 9.10pm last night after residents reported hearing gunfire.

The Metropolitan Police said: ‘Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and found a man, believed aged in his 20s, with a gunshot injury.

‘He was taken to hospital for treatment – his condition is not life-threatening. A crime scene remains in place.

‘There has been no arrest, and enquiries into the circumstances continue.’

The London Ambulance Service said: ‘We were called at 9.14pm yesterday to reports of a shooting incident in Washbourne Road, NW10.

‘We sent resources to the scene, including ambulance crews, a paramedic in a fast response car, an incident response car and London’s Air Ambulance.

‘The first of our crews arrived in five minutes.

‘Our crews treated a man at the scene, before taking him to a London major trauma centre by road.’
