A four-year-old child is in a critical condition after being struck by a car in east London.
The accident happened at the junction of Cranbrook Road and Gantshill Crescent in Ilford just after 8.50am this morning.
Police and paramedics were called and found the child, who was a pedestrian, injured at the scene.
The youngster was rushed hospital as a priority where their condition was described as critical.
No arrests have been made.
A Met Police spokesperson said: ‘Police were called at 08:56hrs on Friday, 7 February to Cranbrook Road, Ilford following a collision involving a car and a pedestrian.
‘The pedestrian, a 4-year-old child was taken to hospital where they remain in a critical condition.
‘Enquiries remain ongoing and no arrests have been made.’
London Ambulance Service said they took the child to a major trauma centre as a priority.
