Boy, 11, charged with stabbing two people in ‘targeted attack’

An 11-year-old boy is due in court charged with stabbing a man and teenager in Manchester.

The schoolboy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is accused with Mohammed Ali Saim, 20, of carrying out what police have called a ‘targeted attack’.

A 16-year-old boy and 20-year-old man were seriously injured in a stabbing in Longsight, Manchester, on Tuesday.

Saim, of Aston Avenue, Manchester, and the boy, were both charged with GBH with intent and possession of an offensive weapon and remanded in custody.

Emergency services were called to reports of a stabbing in the vicinity of Rushford Street and Purcell Street shortly before 7pm on Tuesday.

Both of the injured remain in hospital in a stable condition.

Police said the incident was believed to be a targeted attack.
