Today on Sky Sports Racing: Ffos Las, Plumpton and Wolverhampton host live action

There’s action aplenty on Sky Sports Racing today, with Ffos Las, Plumpton and Wolverhampton hosting busy cards…

1.05 Ffos Las – Jurancon locks horns with Rosscahill

The David Pipe-trained Jurancon brought strong bumper form to the table at the start of the year and has ran twice already over obstacles. On his first start he bumped into the potentially smart The Kemble Brewery who has franked the form since when winning. He lacked a turn of pace that day but obliged when running Tripoli Flyer into submission. Once again, the form looks franked with the second winning as well up at Market Rasen. He is the one to beat here while carrying the penalty.

Rosscahill made a fine start to his hurdling career having been purchased at the Cheltenham sale after winning a point-to-point impressively. He faces stiffer opposition today in Jurancon but could still improve. Alan De Banks also lines up after making a good hurdle start. He looked like obstacles will be more needed given his size and travelled well for a long way at Ffos Las.

12.35 Ffos Las – Hollygrove Cha Cha looks to stay unbeaten

Hot To Trot have a hot-looking prospect in the mares novice hurdle with the Jamie Snowden-trained filly Hollygrove Cha Cha who is 3-3. She was twice a winner in bumpers and made a good maiden hurdle start when winning by 8 lengths on his seasonal debut. That day she made an error at the last when clear where she lacked concentration, however, she should be better if the 7lb penalty doesn’t affect this young four-year-old.

Jasmine d’Airy is of interest for the Harry Derham having come from the point-to-point scene. She did make a winning debut in a bumper when trained in Ireland and was sold shortly after for £120,000. She is the unexposed one here that could kick on. The Harry Redknapp-owned Northern Air was a cause for controversy two starts back when the BHA claimed public schooling after tender handling. She made her reappearance at Ayr when not getting home seemingly but should strip fitter today.

2.20 Plumpton – Lady Balko and I See You Well clash in feature

Lady Balko seemed to empty quickly last time at Bangor when travelling relatively well for a long way, but should improve in this competitive-looking contest. Harry Cobden is booked for David Pipe which is eye-catching with them having a 31% strike rate with each other from 13 runners. The veteran I See You Well is consistent in this sort of company even though he hasn’t won a race since 2022.

Born At Midnight was on a bit of a roll towards the end of last season when winning twice and second too. He returns here for Bill Smith with Ben Ffrench-Davis who takes over for the first time – his 5lb claim could be helpful.

Best of the rest

Go West returns after a 618-day absence for the Ditcheat team in the 12.20 at Plumpton but will have to beat last-time-out winner Golan Loop who is partnered with James Bowen. A few nice prospects go to post for the 3.30 in East Sussex, namely Kingston Queen, Moon Monarch and debutant One For Hadley.

Wolverhampton hosts a meeting restricted to riders who are licensed as Flat jockeys in Great Britain and between 19 November, 2023 and 18 November, 2024.
