Real Madrid vs. Alaves odds, pick, prediction: La Liga live stream, how and where to watch, time

Real Madrid will chase five consecutive wins across all competitions when they face Alaves in La Liga on Tuesday at Santiago Bernabeu. Carlo Ancelotti’s men have won their last three Spanish topflight games while Luis Garcia’s side just saw off Sevilla at home. Los Blancos have been far from at their best so far but they are still without defeat and have won six of their eight games.

Ancelotti and his players kicked off the season with UEFA Super Cup success and also made a winning start in the UEFA Champions League. Real have dropped points twice on the road and will travel to take on bitter rivals Atletico Madrid this weekend before a UCL return to France for Kylian Mbappe who is yet to hit top form in the Spanish capital with six goals and one assist.

Alaves had an excellent 2023-24 season upon their return to the topflight and the Basque outfit is now looking to build on that 10th placed finish. With no Europe to worry about, Garcia’s side have won three of their last four games against Real Sociedad, Las Palmas and Sevilla. A 5-0 loss to Real in this game last year will not be forgotten but they did stun Los Merengues 2-1 at Santiago Bernabeu in 2020.

Story so far

Real have won four and drawn two of their six games in La Liga for a 14-point total which places them second behind leaders Barcelona. Ancelotti’s men drew two of their first three games but have won all of their last three against Real Betis, Sociedad and Espanyol with eight goals across those games. Alaves have three wins, one draw and two losses so far this year for 10 points which places them fifth and just four points behind Real.

Team news

Real: Eduardo Camavinga, Dani Ceballos, David Alaba and Brahim Diaz are definitely out while Jude Bellingham and Dani Carvajal came off injured against Espanyol with the England international continuing to struggle with a shoulder issue. Neither is thought to be too serious but both are unlikely to be risked here with Vini Jr. set to be reinstated into the XI along with Antonio Rudiger and Ferland Mendy while Lucas Vazquez could also start at right-back. Endrick could also start after two goals as a substitute so far.

Possible Real XI: Courtois; Vazquez, Militao, Rudiger, Mendy; Modric, Tchouameni, Valverde; Endrick, Mbappe, Vinicius.

Alaves: Jesus Owono is out but otherwise expected the same XI which saw off Sevilla. Carlos Vicente and Toni Martinez have two goals apiece and should continue up top while Carlos Martin should also continue in attack. Joan Jordan and Ander Guevara should form the midfield while Manu Sanchez is likely to continue at left-back.

Possible Alaves XI: Sivera; Tenaglia, Abqar, Sedlar, M Sanchez; Jordan, Guevara; Vicente, Stoichkov, Martin; T Martinez.

Prediction

This one could be tight for a while but Real have shown that they can pull away in those sorts of games. Expect Alaves to put up a good showing but for Los Blancos to see off the Basques by a two-goal margin in the end. Pick: Real 3, Alaves 1.
