Nikki Glaser Opens 2025 Golden Globes With a Diddy ‘Freak-Off’ Joke

The Golden Globes hit CBS and Paramount+ on Sunday (Jan. 5) night, taking over the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, Calif. Comedian/actress Nikki Glaser hosted the show, which has new owners and a new lease after a scandal-ridden few years at the top of the 2020s.

After Glaser held space for a Wicked joke during her monologue, she set her comedic sights on one of the biggest scandals of 2024, the allegations against disgraced music mogul Diddy.

While joking about Zendaya and Dune: Part Two, she shifted to another 2024 flick starring Zendaya, Challengers. “That movie was more sexually charged than Diddy’s credit card,” she quipped. “I mean, seriously, I’m upset too. The after party isn’t going to be as good this year, but we have to move on. A Stanley Tucci freak-off doesn’t have the same ring to it,” she said, causing the actor to cringe. “No baby oil this year — just lots of olive oil” (that one got a laugh out of him, however).

Keith Urban caught a couple strays, with Glaser joking that wife Nicole Kidman made so many movies last year just to get out of the house while he was strumming his guitar. And Glaser launched a good-natured jibe at producer Benny Blanco. While talking about double nominee Selena Gomez, Glaser noted she was present with “new fiancé Benny Blanco. And Benny Blanco is here because of the genie who granted him that wish. Man. Lucky guy.”
