In his postgame interview with NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero, the WR honored his brother, Tiger, who died in the New Orleans terror attack on Jan. 1.
“It’s simple,” Jack Bech said. “My brother had some wings on me. He gave them to me and let that all take place.”
Tankathon ranks Jack Bech as No. 96 on its top 100 board. However, his stock should soar after his impressive Senior Bowl showing.
“I’m not saying he’s going to be a first-round pick, but I very much doubt he gets out of the second round,” wrote Pro Football Focus’ Trevor Sikkema in a piece published Wednesday. “After the Senior Bowl, his stock feels comfortable in the early-to-mid second-round range.”
Executive tabbed Texas A&M edge-rusher Shemar Stewart as Senior Bowl’s biggest riser
An NFL personnel evaluator recently told ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler Stewart “stamped himself as the best player [at the Senior Bowl].”
Still, some scouts may be concerned about Stewart’s numbers. In 12 games, the 6-foot-6, 290-pounder had only 1.5 sacks and six tackles for loss.
“I see a guy who needs a better plan as a pass-rusher at times,” The Ringer’s Todd McShay said of Stewart on a Tuesday episode of his podcast. “He has a lot of good counter moves, but knowing which one to use in circumstances is where he can improve. But those are things that are coachable.”
Given Stewart’s upside, he could be a first-rounder. In his latest mock draft, CBS Sports’ Chris Trapasso has the Detroit Lions taking him with pick No. 28.
Alabama QB Jalen Milroe offers amusing reply about switching positions
In a Wednesday interview with “Pro Football Talk Live,” Milroe — who had 45 TD passes in four seasons at Alabama — clarified he has never mulled a position change.
“No, it’s always quarterback,” Milroe said. “Of course, the question’s asked — switching positions, something like that, what I can do. But you never ask a zebra to be a dog.”
The 33rd Team’s Kyle Crabbs wrote Milroe’s “ball placement and touch needs considerable work.” The Alabama star said he’s working with private QB coach Jordan Palmer — who has coached Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen — to refine his passing mechanics.
If Palmer helps Milroe (6-foot-2, 225 pounds) reach his potential, scouts and analysts should stop badgering him about a position switch.
Should AFC West team target Ohio State RB TreVeyon Henderson?
In a Wednesday interview with FanDuel’s Kay Adams, Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton said he must find the “joker” for his offense. The “joker” is typically an RB or TE who can line up in multiple spots.
On Thursday, ESPN’s Matt Miller suggested Payton keep Henderson or Texas RB Jaydon Blue on his radar.
Henderson (5-foot-10, 208 pounds) is considered a better prospect than Blue. NFL Media’s Daniel Jeremiah, on his latest big board, listed the national champion as his No. 4 RB.
Henderson would provide more spark for Denver’s offense, which finished 10th in the league in points scored (25 PPG) during the 2024 season. In 16 games during his senior season, Henderson had 1,300 yards (1,016 rushing and 284 receiving) and 11 TDs (10 rushing and one receiving).
Does Syracuse QB Kyle McCord deserve more hype?
Many scouts believe Miami’s Cam Ward and Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders are the best QBs in the class. In a Tuesday interview with On3’s J.D. PicKell, Syracuse head coach Fran Brown said McCord (6-foot-3, 220 pounds) belongs in the same conversation.
“Just me, personally, I’m excited about everyone in the draft,” Brown said. “But none of those dudes could play QB better than [McCord].”
McCord — who led the FBS in passing yards (4,779 in 13 starts) during the 2024 season — seems to have an excellent arm. Per East-West Shrine Bowl director of football operations Eric Galko, he averaged 49.4 MPH on his throws during a practice session. The NFL average is 44.8 MPH.
On his updated big board, ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. listed McCord as his No. 6 QB. While he probably won’t be a first-rounder, the Syracuse star could be an intriguing project QB for the team that takes him.
