Kendrick Lamar and Marvel have collaborated in the past on ventures, such as the Compton native curating the Black Panther soundtrack in 2018. And now, the two parties are set to reunite for Captain America: Brave New World, which hits theaters across the U.S. on Friday (Feb. 14).
Captain America star Anthony Mackie, who plays the role of Falcon, revealed Kendrick’s involvement with the blockbuster’s title track during an interview with Entertainment Tonight earlier this week.
“Kendrick did the title song for my movie — I hope that’s not supposed to be a surprise,” he said while spilling the beans. “I’m breaking it here first, I’m so excited, man. The beauty and mastery of his craft.”
It’s unclear what the track will be titled, but presumably, the song will be something along the lines of “Brave New World,” and fans could hear a version with the movie’s arrival later this week.
Kendrick helmed the Black Panther: The Album soundtrack, which produced hits such as “All the Stars,” “King’s Dead” and “Pray for Me”; the project topped the Billboard 200 in 2018.
The Captain America contributions are just another side mission for Kendrick Lamar in what’s already been a decorated 2025. In the last two weeks alone, the Compton rapper has put on his own superhero cape to collect five Grammy Awards and headline the Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show in New Orleans.
The rapper will rest up and then hit the road for the Grand National Tour with SZA, which will invade arenas across North America beginning in April.
