The song marks Bay’s first No. 1 on the survey, as well as his first ruler on any radio ranking. He previously rose as high as No. 2 on the chart with “Hold Back the River” in 2015.

The English singer-songwriter is the second act in a row to notch a first Adult Alternative Airplay No. 1; he takes over from Michael Kiwanuka, whose “Floating Parade” led for two weeks.

As for the other acts on “Up All Night,” The Lumineers add their seventh Adult Alternative Airplay No. 1 and first since “Brightside” reigned for two weeks in 2021. The Wesley Schultz-fronted band first led in 2012 with “Ho Hey.” Kahan claims his third No. 1, all earned consecutively, following “Northern Attitude” (with Hozier) beginning in January and “Dial Drunk” in September 2023.

Concurrently, “Up All Night” ranks at No. 36 on the all-rock-format, audience-based Rock & Alternative Airplay chart with one million audience impressions in the week ending Oct. 3, according to Luminate.

The track has also spent four weeks on Billboard’s multimetric Hot Rock & Alternative Songs tally, debuting at its No. 28 high in August.

The song is the lead single from Changes All the Time, Bay’s fourth studio album, out today, Oct. 4. Predecessor Leap was released in July 2022 and has earned 39,000 equivalent album units to date.

All Billboard charts dated Oct. 12 will update on Billboard.com on Tuesday, Oct. 8.
