Fallon Sherrock fails to earn PDC Tour Card at Q-School on Friday but remains in the mix ahead of weekend

Fallon Sherrock failed to earn a PDC Tour Card at Q-School in Milton Keynes on Friday, losing at the last-32 stage, but she remains in the mix. 

The 30-year-old sits 19th on the Order of Merit listings at the halfway stage heading into the weekend, with two points and a strong leg difference of 12.

Other recognisable names such as Mervyn King, Simon Whitlock and Beau Greaves need big performances over the last two days to have any chance, however, while Scotland’s former World Cup winner John Henderson is well-placed at third in the Order of Merit and has almost secured a Tour Card.

Friday saw Kai Gotthardt and Justin Hood as the latest players to secure their PDC Tour Cards.

Day Two of Final Stage at European Qualifying School saw the emerging Gotthardt secure his maiden Tour Card, following on from an impressive World Darts Championship debut last month.

The German clinched his place on the professional circuit with a deciding-leg victory over compatriot Steven Noster in Friday’s decider in Kalkar.

Hood, meanwhile, won through a last-leg tussle against Bradley Brooks at UK Qualifying School to confirm his status as a Tour Card Holder for the first time in his career.

Brooks succumbed 6-5 to Tom Bissell in Thursday’s finale, and history repeated itself at Arena MK as Hood fired in a 14-darter to defy a late fightback from the former World Youth Champion.

Sherrock lost 6-2 to Daniel Perry in the last 32 having earlier beaten Keenan Thomas 6-3 and Rhys Peris Davies 6-1, while Greaves fell at the first hurdle, 6-4 to Tavis Dudeney.

Whitlock also bowed out early on after losing 6-4 to Mark McGeeney and Mervyn King exited in the last 32 after a 6-4 defeat to Jamie Atkins.

Saturday will offer further opportunity for players to win Tour Cards, with play commencing at 12pm in Milton Keynes.

In addition to the daily Tour Card winners, a further 21 Tour Cards will be awarded on a pro-rata basis to players from the respective Final Stage Orders of Merit following Day Four; 12 in Europe, and nine in the UK.

Norway’s Cor Dekker – who landed a nine-darter on the European Tour in 2024 – occupies top spot on the European Order of Merit, having followed up a semi-final showing on Thursday with a run to the quarter-finals 24 hours later.

Dutch duo Jimmy van Schie and Mark Kuivenhoven are second and fifth respectively on the Order of Merit, with Karel Sedlacek and Max Hopp also in provisional Tour Card positions.

Brooks looks to be assured of a Tour Card after reaching back-to-back finals, and the 24-year-old boasts a four-point lead at the top of the UK Final Stage Order of Merit, with Aden Kirk in second spot.
