Today’s Connections Hints & Answers For December 27, 2024 (Puzzle #565)

If you are looking to get all the right hits on today’s Connections puzzle, you are in the right place to get the know-how you need to get it done. I actually found today’s puzzle to be quite delightful overall. It was challenging enough to feel satisfying to solve but not so out-of-nowhere that I didn’t feel like I was floundering. Sometimes you need very specific knowledge to win, but today the wordplay felt just right to help me solve the puzzle whether I knew the categories well or not.

Another puzzle that you can attempt to solve today is The Password Game, which is a game filled to the brim with 15 unique puzzles that you have to solve and make them fit together to create a nearly unbreakable password. While the end solution will likely be unique to everyone solving it, you will have to be prepared to change your solution throughout the entire game until you get to the end to fulfill all 15 requirements the game asks you to keep.

Today’s Connections Category Hints

DECEMBER 27 #565

If you are looking for hints, you are in the right place. There are a lot of different things going on in any Connections puzzle, and this one has some interesting details to pay attention to. There are a fair number of things that could trip you up, but you can get through this one just by looking a little closer without needing to know any of the categories well. To help you do that, here are four hints:

  • One category is about something you might find in the morning
  • One category is about actions you can take to activate a particular type of thing
  • One category is about things that share a common feature – physically or metaphorically
  • One category is about four people who all share an achievement in common

BREAKFAST SIDES

BACON

GRITS

HASH

TOAST

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and many people’s favorite. While breakfast foods tend to be quite hit or miss for me, I do love all of the ones in this category. BACON is fine, sure, but a good piece of TOAST, cheesy GRITS, and a lovely HASH – preferably in the form of a hash brown – are the highlights. With any luck, you can hopefully experience this kind of breakfast today or over the course of the remaining holidays. Or, if these aren’t your favorite, you get the ones that are yummy to you.

Green Answers: Revealed & Explained

PUSHES, AS A BUTTON

CLICKS

HIT

PRESSES

TAPS

This one can be the easiest to spot if you are looking for it. The -s on the end of these words is the biggest tip, and while IRONS has the same end letter, it is much more clearly a name. These words sound different, and if you look at them closely you can tell. PRESSES doesn’t sound quite right when you read it out loud, but it is the right word for the job here. These words all have a very similar meaning, so paying attention to both the form of the word and the definition should be enough.

Blue Answers: Revealed & Explained

THEY HAVE A HORN

AFRICA

BUGLER

CAR

UNICORN

This one is a little less straightforward and, in my opinion, the hardest for today. Yes, you could get there by thinking that all of these things have horns. I even thought that might be a potential category when I saw just UNICORN by itself. However, it is one of the harder ones to figure out apart from that. The Horn of Africa is not the same kind of horn as any of these other things have, so you might not think of it. However, the last category is the reason why you don’t necessarily have to know this one.

Purple Answers: Revealed & Explained

BRIDGES

IRONS

PHOENIX

WASHINGTON

The main reason that this one feels as easy as it does it that these are all names. Africa is the only other obvious name, and these ones sound more like people. Even if you don’t know what these people are connected by or what WASHINGTON this puzzle is implying, they are all easy enough to put together based on the fact that they sound like people. Once you have solved this one, you don’t need any of the words in the previous category to make sense. It should then be the last one you have to solve to win.
