The Golden Bachelorette: Signs Chock Chapple Will Break Joan’s Heart (She Shouldn’t Have Sent Mark Anderson Home)

The Golden Bachelorette‘s Joan Vassos sent Mark Anderson home, but there are signs that she made the wrong decision. Though there are still several men in the running for Joan’s final rose, 60-year-old Chock Chapple seems to be her favorite. If he turns out to be a heartbreaker, Joan will regret making the wrong decision and sending 58-year-old Mark home too soon. Joan is getting ready to visit her final four men’s hometowns, but she missed the opportunity to spend time with Mark’s family.

Joan made her television debut on Gerry Turner’s season of The Golden Bachelor. Though she had to leave early due to a family emergency, Joan left quite an impression during her brief time on the show, and was ultimately cast as the lead of The Golden Bachelorette season 1. After meeting 24 impressive Golden single men, and dating them for the season, she narrowed it down to four eligible older bachelors, including Chock. Though he appeared to be her favorite, he could be the worst mistake of Joan’s life.

Chock Chapple May Be Living In The Past

For 12 years, Chock was married to Heather Chapple, with whom he had two children. The marriage ended in divorce, after which he met Katherine Elizabeth White Goree, and the two were engaged for nine years before she passed away in 2022. During an episode of The Golden Bachelorette season 1, Chock told Joan it was the most devastating loss of his life, so it’s unlikely he’s over it.

Like Chock, Joan also lost a great love. She was married to the love of her life, John Vassos, for 32 years, before he died in 2021. The couple had four children together, who are all now adults watching their mother look for love on national television. Since Joan isn’t completely over the loss of her late husband, she’s more forgiving of the fact that Chock isn’t over his late fiancée either.

Bachelor Nation shows are often lousy with contestants who are only on the show to chase social media clout, and The Golden Bachelorette season 1 is no exception. Chock is quite active on Instagram, where he currently has 16.5K followers. Chock recently posted a photo of him and Joan at a carnival of some kind. Chock’s post has 2.3K likes, and his caption reads, “Hometown visit tomorrow! Ready to show Joan where it all began.” Instead of talking about his love for Joan, he pitched the show, which goes to show where Chock’s priorities are.

Chock May Not Be A Knight In Shining Armor

He’s Pushy

During an earlier episode of The Golden Bachelorette season 1, Joan took several men, including Chock, on a group date to the bowling alley. Chock upset the other men by being so pushy with Joan, making sure to always sit right next to her. He was basically acting like he was already her boyfriend, and not giving the other men a chance. Though Joan may like the feeling of being wanted, she should take care not to ignore the red flags. If she ends up all alone, Joan may kick herself for eliminating Mark.
