Stephen King’s Running Man Remake Adds Civil War Star

The impressive cast of Edgar Wright’s The Running Man remake adds another up-and-coming talent. The film will be based on Stephen King’s dystopian novel, which was written under his pseudonym Richard Bachman, and will follow a cop who is falsely imprisoned and forced to gain his freedom by competing in a deadly game. The Running Man was already adapted into a movie in 1987 and starred Arnold Schwarzenegger but didn’t see success at the box office or approval from King, who wasn’t too enamored by the adaptation.

Now, Deadline reports that Wright’s The Running Man remake has found a new cast member. Civil War star Karl Glusman has joined the already impressive cast, which includes Top Gun: Maverick’s breakout star Glen Powell, who will play the lead role of Ben Richards, and All American star Daniel Ezra. Like Ezra’s casting, no other details regarding Glusman’s character have been released.

What This Means For The Running Man Remake

Running Man Is Grabbing Many Rising Stars

This casting announcement presses on with The Running Man remake’s trend of casting up-and-coming talent. This is heavily apparent and started with the casting of Powell, who was fresh off of his success with Top Gun: Maverick and went on to star in other hits like Anyone But You, Hit Man, and Twisters. This trend of casting promising talent continued with Katy O’Brian, who also starred in Twisters, and saw success with a captivating performance in Love Lies Bleeding. This also extends to All American star Ezra.
