‘Nobody Wants This’ Season 2: Everything We Know So Far About a Potential Renewal
Actually, everybody wants a Nobody Wants This season two.
Romantic comedy is so back thanks to Netflix’s latest, which is why everyone who watched it is already clamoring for the show to return. The first ten episodes followed the unlikely love story between sex and relationships podcaster Joanne (Kristen Bell) and Jewish rabbi Noah (Adam Brody), reminding millennial viewers why we all fell in love with Brody back on The O.C. along the way.
The series ended with Joanne and Noah together, but a lot of questions remain unanswered. Will Noah have to give up being a rabbi altogether? Will Bina ever learn to fully accept Joanne? And what, exactly, is going on between Sasha and Morgan?
So, here is everything we know about what comes next.
Has Nobody Wants This been renewed yet?
As of right now, Netflix has not yet renewed Nobody Wants This for a second season. That said, it’s still early—the show only just premiered on September 26—and anything could happen.
What has the show’s creator said?
Creator Erin Foster told TheWrap that she intentionally ended the first ten episodes in a way that allows for the story to continue. “I’m not trying to make some artistic choice that strips the audience of the happy ending that they want. But you also don’t want to clean it up too much where there’s nowhere to go,” she said. “I would love to do a season 2; Kristen and Adam would love to do a season 2. There’s so much more story to tell so if people like the show, then I would be really excited to keep telling it.”
Foster also said something similar to IndieWire, saying, “I think the conversations have definitely started to happen about a potential season 2. The story in season 1 unfolds really slowly. And so I think if there is a season 2 I would want to just kind of pick up where we leave off and continue to take it slow, because I don’t want us to get too far ahead of ourselves. I mean, I want my show to be on the air as long as possible!”
When would we be likely to hear about a pick-up?
Unlike other franchises like Bridgerton, Nobody Wants This was only contracted for a single season at a time, so we don’t know yet about its future. According to an analysis by Forbes, Netflix can take anywhere from a week to several months to announce that a series has been renewed. So, unfortunately, the only thing there is to do is wait.
