Marvel Raises A Massive Scarlet Witch Question That May Finally Explain Why The Avengers Have Shut Down

Agatha All Along has raised some interesting questions regarding the fallout of Marvel’s WandaVision, which may in turn explain why there hasn’t been an Avengers team since Avengers: Endgame. Agatha All Along episode 6 finally explored the immediate aftermath of WandaVision, filling in the gap between Wanda’s Hex and her villainy in Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness. The episode also confirmed that William Kaplan, also known as Teen, is actually Billy Maximoff, Wanda’s son, providing some much-needed context about what happened after WandaVision.

The fallout of WandaVision left many unanswered questions that the MCU timeline hadn’t fully addressed until now. Wanda’s Hex over the town of Westview created a massive impact, but the consequences and how the world reacted were largely unexplored. Agatha All Along has started to provide answers, including a deeper understanding of why there hasn’t been a new Avengers team assembled since Avengers: Endgame. Episode 6 suggests that the public’s perception of Wanda and her actions might have contributed to the Avengers’ absence.

Agatha All Along Reveals How The World Reacted To WandaVision

WandaVision depicted Wanda’s Hex, a reality-warping bubble that engulfed the town of Westview. Inside the Hex, Wanda controlled the minds of the residents and reshaped the town into classic sitcoms. To the outside world, the entire town was trapped, and authorities could only observe the strange events from afar. In WandaVision, a visual broadcast of the sitcom was intercepted by S.W.O.R.D., but Agatha All Along episode 6 revealed a new layer of information.

Scarlet Witch’s Death Feels Like A Glaring Plot Hole 2 Years After Doctor Strange 2

Agatha All Along has proffered some insight into what happened to Scarlet Witch’s children, creating a massive plot hole for Multiverse of Madness.

In a flashback, Teen (Billy Maximoff) the audio from Wanda’s sitcom was audible to people outside the Hex. A large scarlet energy barrier marked the Hex itself, and anyone who came too close risked being drawn into Wanda’s fabricated world. This confirms that the outside world was more aware of Westview than originally thought. People could hear the eerie sitcom broadcasts but had no idea what was really happening to the town’s residents.

What made the situation even more terrifying is that from the outside, it wasn’t clear what Wanda was doing to the people inside the Hex. Even though S.W.O.R.D. and other agencies were investigating, the true extent of Wanda’s control and the suffering of Westview’s inhabitants wasn’t fully understood.

How Much Of Scarlet Witch’s Story Is Public Knowledge?

One of the most significant revelations in Agatha All Along is that Westview was described to the public as an “Avengers training exercise gone wrong.” This explanation is hauntingly close to the truth, as Wanda’s actions were, in a way, the unintended result of her grief. However, the labeling of Westview as an Avengers-related incident means that the team was indirectly blamed for what happened, even though none of the other Avengers were involved.

Furthermore, Agatha All Along makes it clear that the world knows about Scarlet Witch’s death. But the details of how the public learned this remain murky. Was her demise during Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness covered up, or did news of her death spread through whispers and government leaks? Additionally, it’s unclear how much of Wanda’s descent into villainy is known to the public. If the true extent of her powers and her loss of control became widely known, it would have significant implications for how people perceive her and the Avengers as a whole.

Is This Why The Avengers Haven’t Reformed (Yet) After Endgame?

The absence of a new Avengers team following the events of Endgame has been one of the lingering mysteries in the MCU. Despite the Avengers saving the world from Thanos, there hasn’t been any sign of a new lineup of heroes stepping up to protect Earth. The events of WandaVision and now Agatha All Along offer a compelling reason for this.

New Agatha All Along Theory Reveals The True Power Of Joe Locke’s Teen, & Why He’s Only Now Revealing How Dangerous He Really Is

Joe Locke’s Teen is at a turning point after Agatha All Along episode 5, seemingly unleashing an awesome power that has been subdued until now.

While the Avengers saved the universe from a catastrophic threat, the Westview incident occurred just weeks later. This wasn’t the first time Wanda had caused widespread destruction – her role in the events leading to the Sokovia Accords in Captain America: Civil War had already made her a controversial figure. Now, with Westview labeled as a botched Avengers training exercise, the team’s reputation would have been severely tarnished. People may no longer see the Avengers as the saviors they once were, but rather as a potential threat.

If those in positions of power, such as government agencies or military officials, were aware of Wanda’s actions and eventual fall, it’s possible that they’re now wary of superpowered individuals, especially those associated with the Avengers. The government might see them as loose cannons who could cause more harm than good, which could explain why the Thunderbolts, a government-controlled team of antiheroes, are being set up in the MCU. Indeed, Agatha All Along teases the idea that the Avengers may not be trusted to handle threats anymore, with the public and governments alike preferring a team they can control.
