On October 10, the 45-year-old actor—who is currently starring in the Broadway revival of Our Town—nailed the off-duty look in a pair of light-wash baggy denim, which she wore with a loose-fitting white button-up and Dune London’s Deliberate XL woven shoulder bag, finishing the oversized-everything ’fit with a pair of black socks and patent-leather flats.

What really brought the look together, however, is the unsung hero of any wardrobe: a chunky gray cardigan. Unexciting on the hanger but essential to any capsule wardrobe, Holmes’s unbuttoned sweater gave the outfit a cozy touch of luxury.
