Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck Finalize Divorce After ‘Fairy Tale’ Marriage Turned Into a ‘Nightmare’

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez, perhaps the defining couple of the Biden era, are officially over. The divorce has been finalized. They are free to start saying it was awful, even if they seem pretty friendly now.

In fact, a source close to Lopez just told People that the multihyphenate “is in a really good place and just wants to close the door on this crazy chapter,” and they do mean crazy, adding, “The fairy tale she was promised turned out to be a nightmare in the end.” Don’t you just hate when that happens?

Thankfully, the divorce itself seems to be cut and dried. Per TMZ, neither will pay the other any spousal support, and they both get to keep whatever money they earned during the marriage. The outlet also reports that they reached a “confidential” settlement on the money made from the sale of their mansion, which actually hasn’t been sold yet. Apparently they had no prenup but hired Hollywood divorce queen Laura Wasser (the basis for Laura Dern’s character in Marriage Story, if that helps you picture it) to mediate the whole shebang. They’ll officially be not-married starting on February 20.
