How To Upgrade Your Camera In Infinity Nikki
With so many things to do in Infinity Nikki, figuring out how to upgrade your camera can be a bit tricky. There’s no tutorial that tells you where to go, leaving players to find the upgrade menu for themselves. You’re given Momo’s Camera early on in the game, which gives you a few poses, lighting options, and filters, but doesn’t really tell you how to get more.
Like any dress-up game, taking photos is one of the most commonly enjoyed features by the community. There’s something satisfying about snapping just the right shot to show off your new outfit, and it’s even more fun to see what cute combos other players have cooked up. You can increase your photography quality by upgrading your camera, as long as you have the materials to do so.
How To Upgrade Momo’s Camera
Use Your Upgrade Packs To Purchase Levels
Like leveling up and Glowing Up your outfits, you need certain materials in order to upgrade pieces of Momo’s camera. The menu can be found in the top right corner of the camera interface, right next to the button that takes you to your photo album. On PC, the hotkey for the upgrade menu is bound to “U,” while holding Start or Options provides access to the buttons at the top right on a controller.
Once you get into the upgrade screen, you’ll get a tutorial explaining how to upgrade the camera and what the various upgrades do. There are three different types of upgrades, and each of them does something different. Each upgrade type offers unique additions to your camera at each level, up to 12:
Upgrade Type | Effect |
---|---|
Lighting | This option allows you different colors and angles of light to create more unique compositions of photo. |
Pose | This option gives Nikki more ways to pose for photos, allowing you to add a bit of character to your shots. |
Filter | This option puts a color or effect filter over your photos, which is an easier way to add a color or style you’re looking for in pictures. |
At each level, you’ll get a new effect, pose, or filter to use. These stay unlocked forever, and more will likely be added as the game’s life continues, so make sure you’re upgrading as you go and using your Upgrade Packs. These packs are the currency used to upgrade your camera, and they can only come from a few places.
Where To Get Upgrade Packs For The Camera
Certain Quests & The Wishfield Expeditions Book
There are a few ways to get Upgrade Packs to upgrade your camera, but you can only get three or so Packs per activity, so it’s going to take some time to get enough to upgrade the camera fully. The most reliable way to do this is through the Wishfield Expedition journal, which you’ll receive as soon as you get your camera in the early game. This book is full of locations to visit and photograph across the Wishfield.
Alongside the Wishfield Expeditions is the Wishfield Travel Journal, which encourages players to visit new places in the Wishfield for rewards.
As you’re running around the Wishfield, you may notice a golden camera reticle pop up every once in a while. This means that you’re close to one of the 40 Wishfield Expedition locations. To capture the location and earn your reward, take a picture after the golden targeting reticle has appeared in the camera. Make sure to hit the “Upload” button to add the photo to your Expedition Journal or the photo won’t count.
Each Expedition photo will earn you three upgrade packs, and with 40 to do, that will earn you 120 Upgrade Packs and a “special encounter.” This encounter allows you to take one final photo to complete your photo album. It appears that the encounter wasn’t working properly on the game’s release, but it’s fully functional now.

There’s a ton to do in Wishfield, so there’s no reason to be bored after you beat Infinity Nikki’s main story questline.
The other two ways to get Upgrade Packs to get your camera fully functioning are by completing “Forced Perspective” and “Photo Investigation” quests. These are both Random quest types, which means the only way to unlock them is to run around the locations where they’re supposed to appear and hope they pop up. This will give you a few more Upgrade Packs per quest completed.
You’ll need 189 to fully upgrade your camera in Infinity Nikki, so you have your work cut out for you. Between taking photos of the Wishfield’s numerous beautiful locations and playing with perspective in the random quests you find, you’ll be a photo pro in no time. It’s likely that more photo challenges will be added to the game as it updates, so keep an eye out in the future for any more chances to snag Upgrade Packs and make your camera even better.
