Eva Longoria Is Done Living in Donald Trump’s America
Remember in 2016, after Donald Trump was elected president the first time, when all the celebrities were like, “I’m moving to Canada” or “I’m moving to Mexico” or “I’m moving to Mars”? For the most part, they were all talk. But not Eva Longoria.
In a new interview with Marie Claire, Longoria—who campaigned for Vice President Kamala Harris and spoke at the Democratic National Convention—opened up about her global lifestyle, which no longer includes a permanent address in the U.S.
“I’m privileged,” she says of the ability to live primarily outside the States. “I get to escape and go somewhere. Most Americans aren’t so lucky. They’re going to be stuck in this dystopian country, and my anxiety and sadness is for them.”
Longoria and her husband, José Bastón, as well as their six-year-old son, Santiago, now split their time between Mexico and Spain. The 49-year-old adds that while she frequently travels in Europe or South America for work, she doesn’t often find herself in Los Angeles, where she had previously spent most of her adult life. “It just feels like this chapter in my life is done now,” she says of leaving California.
