Dune: Prophecy Episode 4 Trailer – The Reckoning Nears As Valya Reunites With Family & Desmond Hart Makes A Bold Move

The Dune: Prophecy episode 4 trailer teases the Imperium about to reach its boiling point. Episode 3 of Dune: Prophecy mostly took place in the past as it focused on young Valya Harkonnen (Jessica Barden) and her sister Tula (Emma Canning), but episode 4 will return to the present-day conflict. Desmond Hart (Travis Fimmel) continues to pose a formidable threat through his mysterious powers that can resist the Voice, along with the hold he has over the royal Corrino family.

Max has now released the episode 4 trailer that shows present-day Valya (Emily Watson) haunted by her past, especially as she reunites with her uncle Evgeny Harkonnen (Mark Addy). He describes her as “a black hole in this family,” but Valya asserts that “I will not apologize for my strength!” Meanwhile, the rest of the Sisterhood foresee an imminent dark reckoning that terrifies Tula (Olivia Williams) while Desmond unleashes his powers on new targets who burn to death from the inside. What This Means For Dune: Prophecy

Now that episode 3 has made Tula and Valya’s backstory and motivations clearer, all the main storylines and characters are back in play in episode 4. Episode 3 was not just about fleshing out the Harkonnen sisters’ backstory, though, as Valya must confront her past when she comes face-to-face with her uncle. The Sisterhood gave Valya a purpose beyond her family, but the issues with her family remain unresolved, and may get in the way of what she needs from them with her current plans.

The ending of Dune: Prophecy episode 3 “Sisterhood Above All” reveals shocking details about the dark past and future plans of Tula & Valya Harkonnen.

As for the reckoning that the Sisterhood foresees, this is likely intertwined with Desmond’s growing power within the Imperium. Emperor Javicco Corrino is sacrificing too much of his authority to Desmond, which is poised to lead to the disastrous reckoning that the Sisterhood know is coming. Other Dune: Prophecy characters seen in the trailer, including Keiran Atreides (Chris Mason) and Princess Ynez (Sarah-Sofie Boussnina) should not be forgotten either, as they have their own machinations that will impact Desmond and the Sisterhood.

Episode 4 Looks Promising, But Season 1 Is Running Out Of Time

With episode 3 being my favorite episode yet, I am most intrigued by seeing Valya confront her uncle, but the Sisterhood’s ominous visions and seeing more of Desmond’s powers are also enticing. With only three episodes left and Dune: Prophecy season 2 not confirmed, it feels as though there is still a great deal to address. There are definitely more than three episodes of story left to tell about the Sisterhood becoming the Bene Gesserit, but episode 4 looks to be pushing Dune: Prophecy‘s story further in that direction.
