The 2025 BAFTA Awards are well underway, and the red carpet looks are just as dazzling as the star-studded guest list.

The British Academy Film Awards are the perfect precursor to the Oscars, especially when it comes to fashion. A little more elevated and formal than the Critics Choice Awards, red carpet looks from the BAFTAs serve as an indicator of what’s to come from the crowning jewel or awards season—and events even further down the line. For example Taylor Russel’s white feathered Loewe gown worn to last year’s BAFTAs was a stunning forerunner of the powder blue JW Anderson look Sabrina Carpenter wore to the 2025 Grammys this month.

If the color orange and subtle corsetry were the prevelant trends from last year’s BAFTAs, this year’s red carpet marks a notable uptick in classic black gowns and updated takes on Old Hollywood glamour.
