All Strangled Adra Locations In Avowed (Dawnshore, Emerald Stair, Shatterscarp, Galawain’s Tusks)

Avowed’s Strangled Adra is one of the collectibles hidden across the Living Lands. Interacting with the Strangled Adra will give you a good chunk of XP and is also how you unlock the “Pillars of Eternity” achievement. While these are some of the more apparent collectibles in the game, it’s still easy to miss some Strangled Adra because they can be a bit out of the way. However, it’s worth going off the main path to find them, as they are a helpful way to more quickly level up.

There is one Strangled Adra in each of Avowed’s main map regions. Unlike other collectibles like Starmetal or Sapadal’s Ancient Memories, no side quest is associated with collecting the Strangled Adra. This means you’ll need to know to start looking for it on your own without the game telling you it is something that can be interacted with. Luckily, the Strangled Adra tend to stand out on the map, and they are surrounded by smaller Adra pillars, making it easy to spot them when you are exploring.

Where To Find Strangled Adra In Dawnshore

Danwshore’s Strangled Adra Is Near The Gate To Emerald Stair

Dawnshore’s Strangled Adra is one of the easiest to locate but also one of the most difficult to reach. You will see it on a ledge right next to the Emerald Stair Gatehouse. You can get here by traveling to Dawnshore from another region or fast traveling to the Beacon nearby if you’ve already found it. If you haven’t found this area yet, you’ll want to head directly east from the Militia Barracks to the southeasternmost point of the mainland.

Once here, you will see some Adra sticking out of a rock formation and a circular stone tunnel to its left. Enter the tunnel and clear the vines leading upward with fire. If you’re not playing as a Wizard in Avowed, you’ll want to bring Kai with you, as there are a good number of vines to clear, which will save you from wasting too many throwables.

Follow the path through the ruins, clearing any roots you see with fire. When you find doors that require electricity to activate them, you can simply pull the lever in the middle of the room. So long as you’ve cleared all the vines in each room, the lever will release bolts of electricity that will activate the gates.

Once you open the final door, you will find the Strangled Adra right in front of you. While this one is a bit of a pain to reach, the rest are luckily easier to get to. That said, others will still require you to have a specific companion or item with you to reach them.

Where To Find Strangled Adra In Emerald Stair

Emerald Stair’s Strangled Adra Is North Of Tama’s Cabin

The Emerald Stair Stangled Adra is in The Wildwoods, just east of The Delemgan Glade. If you’ve gotten Kai’s companion quest to visit Tama’s Cabin, the Strangled Adra is located just north of the building, making it easier to find by using the quest marker. Alternatively, you can look for the Rock Arch Beacon and head north. If you’ve already found the Beacon but not the Adra, simply fast-travel back to it and start heading north with a slight drift to the east.

There are a number of cool spells to choose from in Avowed, but finding the best and which ones will make you feel amazing is a little harder.

After a short walk north, you will see some small pillars of Adra sticking out of the ground. They lead to a ridge beside the high, unclimbable cliff surrounding The Delemgan Glade. Simply follow the Adra up the natural ramp in front of you and begin climbing the rocks. You will find the Strangled Adra at the top of the small rock formation. This is one of the easiest Strangled Adra to get to, both due to its proximity to a Beacon and because it is a straight shot to reach it.

Where To Find Strangled Adra In Shatterscarp

Shatterscarp’s Strangled Adra Is East Of The Thirdborn Camp

To find the Strangled Adra in Shatterscarp, you’ll want to travel to the campsite outside Thirdborn and head directly east. As soon as you start heading in that direction, you will see a stone archway over your path and a few gleams of Adra in the distance. Follow the Adra, and you will see the strangled pillar on a ledge above you. Pass under another stone archway, and you’ll find a series of rocks you can use to climb up to the same level as the Adra.

The seven Skaen’s Totem locations for the Totem of Defiance in Avowed can be found scattered in various locations around Emerald Stair.

Head to the opposite side of the stone archway as the Strangled Adra (which should be directly to your left after climbing up), and you will see a series of roots. Use Kai’s ability or fire to clear the roots and access the Strangled Adra. Alternatively, you can climb around the other side of the stone archway and jump a gap to reach it. Either way works, but going through the roots can be a bit easier, and there’s no risk of missing the jump and having to repeat it.

Where To Find Strangled Adra In Galawain’s Tusks

Galawain’s Tusks’ Strangled Adra Is East Of The Region’s First Camp

The quickest way to reach the Strangled Adra in Galawain’s Tusks is to start by fast-traveling to the campsite just north of the entrance to the region. If you’ve just arrived in Galwain’s Tusks, you can travel northeast a short distance to find this campsite. From there, you will continue east. You will see Solace Keep in the distance to your left, and after a short walk, you should start to see a path of smaller Adra pillars leading the way.

Follow the smaller Adra pillars, and you will see the Strangled Adra on a small ledge ahead of you. This is another straightforward one similar to the Emerald Stair Strangled Adra. There are no tricks here; just climb directly toward the Strangled Adra using the rocks to its right, and you will be there. This is probably the easiest of Avowed’s Strangled Adra to reach, though locating it is a bit trickier than initially finding the one in Emerald Stair since it isn’t near any of the game’s quest markers. Still, now that you have its map location, it’ll be easy to find.
