Bradley Beal: ‘I hold the cards’

Beal, the 31-year-old former All-Star, would also have to waive his no-trade clause again to facilitate a move if the Suns had an interest in trading him. “If so, I need to be addressed because I hold the cards,” Beal said. “So, until I’m addressed and somebody says something differently, then I’ll be a Sun.”

More on this storyline

“I’m a starter in the league,” Beal said. “I firmly believe that. I don’t believe that — no disrespect to anyone, but I’m a starter. That’s what I firmly believe. But Coach made his decision. I’m not gonna sit here and argue with it. I’m not gonna sit here and be a distraction. I’m not gonna sit here and be an a–hole. He made his decision. I live with it. He’s the coach, know what I’m saying? I just gotta go out and play my game, and whatever happens from there, happens from there.” -via New York Times / January 7, 2025
John Gambadoro: Lots of talk about Detroit being a 3rd team for Beal. Doesn’t make a lot of sense to me as to why they would want him but have to do some more digging. They have cap space but young team on the rise so unless heavily incentivized no real reason. Still need to do more work on that -via x.com / January 7, 2025
