We Almost Missed Lainey Wilson’s Head-to-Toe Leather Look at the Super Bowl

Was anyone not at the Superdome on Sunday? Super Bowl LIX brought out a ton of A-listers, including two of our new country faves: Lainey Wilson and Shaboozey, who also appeared in a Nerds commercial that played during the big game.

Rocking a black leather version of her signature cowgirl getup, Wilson took in the event from the YouTube Music suite, where she snapped an adorable photo with the “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” singer. The bell-bottom aficionado typically wears stretchy, comfortable spandex, but this studded pants and jacket ensemble was too good to pass up.

A week prior, the two posed together on the red carpet for the Grammys, with Wilson (seemingly) telling Shaboozey that they should get together some time. And football made it happen! Collab soon? It is the year of the country girl, after all.

“Thank you for having us,” Lainey Wilson wrote on Instagram alongside a snap of the two artists with their arms around each other. The game, played in New Orleans, was something of a homecoming for Wilson, who grew up in a small town in Louisiana.

“When you grow up somewhere like I did with the kind of people that I did, you can’t help but to be country. You can’t escape it no matter if you move eight hours away like I did. Country music was the soundtrack of our lives. We lived it out,” the “Heart Like a Truck” singer told Glamour last year. “To me, country is being a good person. I think ‘giving people the shirt off your back’ kind of people, the people who don’t take no shit, but the people who will love you and lift you up. When I think about country folks, I think about hard work. I think about people who get up with the sun and then go to bed in the wee hours of the morning. I take being country as a huge compliment because it’s the truth.”
