Fallout star Ella Purnell opens up about her involvement in season 2, teasing what the new episodes have in store for Vault 33 resident Lucy MacLean and the audience. The Prime Video series is an adaptation of the beloved video game franchise developed by Bethesda that explores how humanity attempts to rebuild after a cataclysmic nuclear war. In season 1, audiences were introduced to Fallout‘s cast of characters, led by Lucy, who leaves her safe underground bunker home to rescue her father when he is abducted by a mysterious group of raiders.
During Ella Purnell’s MegaCon Orlando panel, for which ScreenRant was in attendance, the star opened up about the current status of Fallout season 2’s ongoing production. Purnell enthusiastically shared her excitement for the upcoming season by describing it as a wild ride. While she admitted that production left her exhausted, she stated that the cast and crew were eager to have the new episodes ready on time by its expected release window:
It’s going to be really good, I think. It’s a wild ride. It’s a wild ride. I’m really exhausted. We’re working really well to get it out on time.
Furthermore, Purnell was eager to tease the season’s twists and turns, hinting towards large-scale surprises that fans will struggle to guess ahead of time. Check out Purnell’s explanation below:
I’m excited. I think no one’s going to be able to predict what happens. There’s some big twists this time around. Yeah, it’s so fun.

Season 2’s Surprises Could Involve Large Video Game Ties
Fallout season 1’s conclusion already offered a world-altering twist that was surprising for both new and longtime video game fans. Not only did Lucy learn that her father Hank (Kyle MacLachlan) was responsible for the destruction of Shady Sands, the fracturing of the NCR, and the ghoulification of her mother Rose (Elle Vertes), but the Ghoul’s (Walton Goggins) flashbacks to his pre-war life as Cooper Howard revealed that Hank was actually a cryogenically frozen Vault-Tec employee and that the mega-corporation had a hand in pushing the world into nuclear war. This sets a high bar for season 2’s twists.

At the end of Fallout season 1, Lucy’s father, Hank MacLean, takes Maximus’ armor and marches toward New Vegas — but what’s his plan for season 2?
However, season 2’s twists may come by answering several mysteries involving the fates of several video game characters. With Hank having last been seen approaching the New Vegas strip that 2011’s Fallout: New Vegas centered on, the series seems set to give a definitive canon answer as to which of the popular entries’ storylines endings is canon, and how several characters ended up. While Rafi Silver’s Mr. House only appeared in season 1’s pre-war flashbacks, his casting could hint towards the character having a role in the post-war story, suggesting that the series could either adapt his faction’s victory.
